Benefits of purple foods   

There are many coloured food available in the market but of them, the experts suggest that it is the purple foods which are the most effective and useful for health. But what are the purple foods? Well, they are those foods which have high levels of antioxidants in them which prevent cell damage and prevent weight gain. They also have the habit of reducing high blood pressure.
 
The purple foods give a pigment called anthocyanin which helps in reducing the risk of cancer and low HDL cholesterol. Here are some of those foods which come under this category. First in the list is plums. These plums can be put in a grill and cinnamon powder can be sprinkled on them. A clove can be stuck to it and after that it can be removed and eaten.
 
Purple cabbage is another purple food. Making it into slices and adding it with balsamic vinegar or light sweet onion dressing will make it tasty to eat. The other important purple food is the figs. They can be had in the form of a salad. The fresh figs must be chopped and this must be filled with shredded rocket leaves, feta cheese and toasted pine nuts. Even walnuts can be added to it.
 
Even the plums can be had on their own or they can be added as part of desserts, baking dishes etc. These fruits are advisable for adults and the foods get their color due to the presence of the anthocyanins. Some of the other notable purple foods which help in skin protection and preventing other health risks are Eggplant, raisins, dark cherries, purple grapes etc.
