INGREDIENTS
  • 4-5 garlic pieces - crushed and made into a paste
  • 4-5 green chillies - cut into small pieces
  • 1 spoon low fat curds
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder (haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta) or 250 gms
  • A pinch of sugar (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • ¾ cup bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki)
How to Prepare
Take the doodhi and scrape it on the scraper

It should be squeezed to remove excess water before you the ingredients are mixed

All the ingredients must be mixed and knead into a soft dough

This should be made into small balls like you do with the atta before rolling them

Each portion should be rolled out thinly into a circle

Each thepla must be cooked on both sides on a non-stick pan

This should be done with very little oil until it appears a little brown

The Thepla is ready and to be served hot with green chutney and curd
